All Star Poker Challenge

7 x 60 minutes for ITV1
Commentary by Victoria Coren and Mark Gregorich
Presented by Vicki Butler-Henderson

Twenty-five of Britain's most famous faces get down and dirty at the poker table.

Bluff, and counter-bluff, deceit and naked aggression all play a part as our celebrities try to outwit each other in a bid to bag a piece of the £50,000 prize pool for the charity of their choice.

Can comic Rory McGrath keep laughing when his luck runs out? Do sports stars like Mark Williams and Darren Campbell have that extra winning edge, or will it be the actors, Jesse Birdsall and Emmerdale's Patrick Mower for example, who prove most adept at bluffing?

How the Tournament Works

The series is a televised poker tournament - seven games, one game per programme. The first five games are heats, five celebrities per heat. Each heat winner qualifies automatically for the Final. The runners up go through to a Semi Final, the winner of which becomes the sixth finalist.

Each of these six celebrity finalists takes a piece of the £50k prize pool for their chosen charity. The better they do the more they win, with £25,000 the top prize.

A specially designed glass-topped table, with under-the-table-cameras, allows viewers to see players' cards and follow the drama. Heart rate monitors show the audience who's feeling the heat. Action replays let us see the best, and the worst, of the poker action.
